The Dungaree Debate

Aloha! I have been admiring Dungarees for a while now & I finally took the plunge & bought myself a pair. They are not what I would usually wear but I have been more daring lately with my fashion choices.

So here they are, they arrived this evening. I tried them on & although I love them I am a little nervous about wearing them. This is not like me because usually I don’t give a damn what anyone ever thinks about my fashion choices! Anyway, I plan on wearing them with either a long sleeve stripe nautical top or a plain white vest or t-shirt.

I am really inspired my the 90’s recently which is why I choose my American Apparel Sunflower Leggings. I use to have a pair very similar when I was young! The Dungarees definitely remind me of the 90’s, they remind me of Miss Honey from my favourite childhood movie, Matilda!

A lot of people are not a fan of the dungarees trend & I will be honest, I wasn’t at first either. However they have grown on me a lot & due to the ‘Miss Honey’ inspiration I am definitely keeping them.

So, what do you think? Are you a dungarees lover or hater? Are they perfect for a fashionista or should they be left to toddlers?

  1. I too was a little hesitant at first but then a pair of the shorts version caught my eye and I have to say: weirdly flattering, super comfortable, and with the right shirt underneath it can do wonders! Although I have to admit the first time I wore them around someone other than my clueless husband I did get a bit of a snicker from a friend. I’m sure you will rock them awesomely!

    1. That makes me feel a little better. I guess I am just a little nervous about them because they are not what I would usually wear. I do love them though & I am sure I will get use to them! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Yeah, I’m not sure how I feel about this trend. I did just see a pair on Asos.com that I think I might get though. Guess I’m on board!
